Why high-security
What a standard lock can’t give you.

Key control
Keys can only be duplicated with your registration card — no hardware-store copies.
Insurance benefits
Many carriers discount premiums for certified high-security hardware. Ask yours.

Who needs this
Three doors we upgrade most.
Some doors don't need replacing — they need the right cylinder behind them. Whether you own a brownstone, run a small business, or manage a whole building, the right high-security core puts you back in charge of every key.
The brownstone owner
A street-facing door, original hardware, and a key that’s been copied who-knows-how-many times. One cylinder swap fixes all three.
The small business
Staff turnover means lost key control. Registered keys mean an ex-employee’s copy is just a souvenir.
The building manager
Master-key systems with high-security cores — one key for you, controlled access for everyone else.

High-security FAQ
Before you decide
Will a high-security cylinder fit my existing lock?
Usually yes. Mul-T-Lock and Medeco make cylinders for most common mortise and rim hardware, so your visible door furniture stays the same.
What stops someone copying my key?
Patented keyways and a registration card. Blanks aren’t sold to hardware stores, and duplication requires your card — by design.
How long does an install take?
Typically 1–2 hours per door, including fitting, testing, and key registration.
Is it worth it for a rental apartment?
Often yes, with landlord approval. The cylinder moves with you when you leave — it’s an asset, not a fixture.
